Excellent, interesting walk. Jan is a lovely host, includes information regarding what is interesting, the treatment of First Nations people, plus rampant corruption.
Thanks for finding the shady spots.

The tour was so informative and the guide knew his historical stuff. It was a really great way to see Brisbane and learn about historical parts of the town as well as local recommendations.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rick... (Australia)
Jan provided us with a well-informed tour, interesting stories from a very interesting author.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Caroly... (USA)
Jan-Andrew gave my husband and I a brilliant tour of the city center that helped put Brisbane into context, as well as provide us with some foundational information about Australian history. He was armed with anecdotes, informative public art stops & mini history lessons – all full of interesting facts, trivia, and loads of humor. We greatly enjoyed walking for hours, hearing him talk widely about naval & military history, the convict colonies, economics, architecture, corruption, the environment, present-day social issues—the gamut!! It was so much fun and so informative to hear about the founding fathers and the many rapscallions that dot the historical record! We compared notes on our sightseeing plans, got some tips, had a lovely drink together. Highly recommend this tour and good luck to trainee...

Nice walk through central Brisbane covering various aspects of the city. Nice to have a cold
beer at the end of the walk...

The guide, Jan Henderson was great. Very knowledgeable, chatty, and gave us lots of information that you could only ever get from a local. He tailored the conversation to make it appropriate for the group. The whole experience was enhanced by the weather, which was perfect, and the city itself, which is fascinating. Thank you, Jan.

Yeah, you're taking a chance - but Black Hart's reputation in the UK is second to none. Black Hart guides are a mixture of historians and professional entertainers, picked for their historical knowledge, as well as their ability to improvise, entertain and make each tour unique and individual.
